💻Computer Engineering in Industry Seminar Held at SUT

Sirjan University of Technology Strengthens Collaboration with Golgohar Industrial Complex

According to the University’s Public Relations Office, a seminar titled “Computer Engineering in Industry” was successfully held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 (Ordibehesht 24, 1404 P.C.). Organized by the Computer Engineering Scientific Association, the event took place in the main conference hall of the University’s Central Building, welcoming professors, prominent experts, and IT managers from Golgohar region companies.

The event commenced with a keynote speech by Dr. Keyvan Ebrahimi, who holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Iowa, USA, and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.

Dr. Ebrahimi’s lecture covered the extensive applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in industry, including predictive systems, Digital Twins, the Internet of Things (IoT), and machine vision systems. He emphasized the critical role of AI in improving productivity, reducing costs, and streamlining industrial processes.

Following this, Dr. Bijami provided an analysis of the job market in various computer engineering disciplines. He highlighted the growing importance of Network Security and pointed to the significant career opportunities available in this field.

Subsequently, Racom Company introduced its projects and, through a practical case study, illustrated the role of AI in enhancing the quality of sponge iron production.

Furthermore, following a speech by Dr. Baha’oddini, Research Manager at Golgohar Steel and Iron Development Company, new avenues for university-industry cooperation were established. These opportunities are expected to play a key role in strengthening scientific and industrial ties.

The seminar concluded with a report on the Steel Slab Prediction AI Competition presented by the Executive Secretary, Ms. Eng. Hanieh Nezamabadi, followed by the presentation of awards to the top winning teams of the AI competition. The executive team was also acknowledged for their dedicated efforts.s
